"Serious Explorations" Colorado Colors Run 2000
Ouray, Colorado

After the Tom Boy Mine, Imogene Pass Heads up well above tree line.  The trees weren't colorful on this run, unfortunately, but the mountains above tree line certainly were.  We got a couple of great group shots near the summit (but you'll have to wait to see those last), and headed back down toward Ouray.  The best part was yet to come!

Now THAT is Colorado color!
This little washout made for a fun frame twister for the stockers.  The more I think about it, the more I don't want a big lift.  I get to have fun on all the little stuff.
Nothin' like a couple dozen good friends and their Explorers to make a weekend great.

I remember the hair on my neck prickled when trail leader, Gerald Jerrett, radioed back, "The stockers are gonna need help with this one."  This big slab cut diagonally across the trail and was washed out at the base.  More proof that stockers have more fun; the modifieds cruised up without breaking a sweat.  As first stocker up, we didn't get a shot of BamBam (who was the only stocker that DIDN'T drag the butt-end on the way up).  Here Brian makes it look easy, just barely scraping the hitch.
Chris and Jenn (brother and sister) were on their first trail ride in matching '99 Sports (and, yes, they are LEASED!).  Chris went first and learned that finesse is better than brute force.  His second shot at it was perfect.
Jenn watched and learned.  Her line was great, but she still managed to trim the tail pipe.
