RAMPART RANGE ROAD

This is one of the first times I'd tried to flex BamBam. Since I'd never been on any real tough trails yet, I though this was pretty good. (If you want to see BamBam REALLY flex, check out the Hacket Gulch trip!)

All in all, we had a great time romping in our winter wonderland. We weren't able to do any of the harder obstacles due to the snow. Still, wheelin' in the snow is a thrill all its own. I highly recommend it.

Update: Folks who frequent Rampart have long known it to be a hang out where teens get drunk and gun owners pop off a few rounds into the mountain side. It seems that some time late in 2001, it was decided that the 4x4 trails somehow contributed to the dilinquency and danger of the area. All trail heads where destroyed with bull dozers digging up the area and piling huge mounds of dirt and concrete. My last trip up Rampart confirmed that wheeling is no longer an option. Of course, teens still get drunk up there and there's still the occational shooting, but at least they're not tearing up the environment, right?
