CCR2000

"Serious Explorations" Colorado Colors Run 2000
Ouray, Colorado

Wow!  What a privilege it was to take part in this one.  Serious Explorations is a Ford Explorer four wheeling club.  Members came from all across the country to take in Colorado's colorful western slope.  This was the second annual CCR.  I think the final count of attendants was 14 Explorers, a Navajo, and two Rangers.

The trails we took were not very difficult, and that was by choice.  We had a few first timers in the group and quite a few stock to "slightly modified" trucks.  The "Big Dawgs" did take a couple of harder ones, and covered at least one obstacle that would have left BamBam bruised.

The first day, group one (the NOT Big Dawgs), headed up Ophir Pass.  Group two tamed the infamous Black Bear Pass.

I'm going to apologize now for the large number of scenery pics.  However, if you've never been to the Western Slope, you need to get there. God definitely spent some extra time creating this part of the world.
I used to think BamBam looked pretty tough.  That was until Matt Adams parked next to it.
Perry wins the Most-Improved and the Show & Shine awards hands down.  This jewel was built from a totaled out, roll victim.
No.  Don't say anything.  Just enjoy it.

Most of Ophir Pass is smooth road, but the scenery more than makes up for it.
